Day 1

I want to begin by being real with myself on what I have eaten today. I don't want to hide or leave out one thing.

Today at school we did have an event for students on the honor roll so I did go bananas with what I ate.

Breakfast: 2 packets of oatmeal (Raisin & Original)

Snack: 1 bag of 99% fat free butter popcorn.

School Party: 2 hotdog buns (no meat) with only ketchup condiment, 1 grape pop, plate of fries, 1 laffy taffy stick.

Tonight: 1 glass of merlot, and I plan on having a salad.

I wonder how many calories that was?

Let's see if it's under 2000.

Oatmeal packets: (Quaker Oatmeal Instant) 128 calories per packet. (Total 254)

Popcorn: Jewel Brand 994%fat free: each serving 130 (2.5 servings) (Total 325)

2 hotdog buns: 110 calories each. (Total 220)

Condiments: 3 ketchup packets and 1 mustard packet: 15 each (Total 60)

1 can of Grape Crush Pop: 1 can = Total 130

Laffy Taffy Stick: 150 Calories

Small Fries: 230 Calories

Damn!

Let's ADD IT UP!

1369 CALORIES.

Still, I feel bloated. I think each day I will keep it to about 1200 Calories, since the last time I did weight watchers in 1999, they said that by eating 1200 calories each day, the body will not go into starve mode.

Also, I want to add I exercised for 20 minutes, at 3.3 Speed, 2.0 elevation.

Calories Burned: 88

Losing the Gut

I've decided that it is time to lose the weight I put on in the last 6 years.

My bones were always big, and I've always been larger than the average girl I suppose. But, I don't want to use that as an excuse to stay a little heavier. I think I should learn to maintain a healthy weight, exercise regimen, and know when to have fun without going too far.

When I graduated college in 2002 I was around 155 pounds, size 8, and I exercised at least 3 days a week for an hour. It was easy to walk to the university gym and hop on a machine.

After I decided to make the big move from Seattle to Chicago I became very depressed. Between January 2003 (just after graduation) and December 2003 put on about 60 pounds.

My highest weight was 209, last year I was able to get down to 193 by logging everything I ate and weighing myself every Monday.

This time I am equipped with a treadmill in my basement and I intend on using it. It's been collecting dust and since it is Winter then indoor exercise is the best option for now.
